Upland Invasive Plant Species Identification and Control Workshop - Hollis

The Maine Forest Service and Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine (SWOAM) in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service, The Nature Conservancy, CPS Timberland, Vaughn Woods State Park, and Maine Forest Management, will be holding a invasive plant identification and control workshop. This workshop will provide participants with an introduction to identification of common upland invasive plants. Participants will also be introduced to different control strategies for invasive plants, including both mechanical and chemical methods. The workshop will concentrate on plant species that are invasive in Maine?s forests. The workshop consists of a 2 hour classroom session followed by a 2 hour outdoor field trip. Anyone with an interest in invasive plants is encouraged to attend. This workshop is free.

Workshop will have a field component so please bring appropriate field gear for the forecasted weather conditions. Also bring your own lunch.

Workshop space is limited and registration is required.
