On April 23rd, The Maine Forest Service Project Canopy and the Farmington Conservation Commission will be offering a hands on workshop on how or when to prune ornamental trees, young trees, or ice storm damaged trees. Whether in your backyard or in your neighborhood park shaping young trees through proper pruning practices will help them grow healthy and strong. We will have various tools to show how to do proper cuts, removing branches and enhancing the form of the tree. We will also discuss when and why to prune forest trees. This workshop will be held at the Farmington Town Office, 153 Farmington Falls Road (park around back and use back door) from 12:30 to end. We will prune some trees locally. This is a free workshop and open to anyone. Any questions, contact Patty Cormier at 592-2238 or patty.cormier@maine.gov. No need to pre-register.
