The Maine Charter School Commission is one of two types of entities permitted to authorize public charter schools in Maine. The Commission can authorize up to 10 public charter schools throughout the state during the first 10 years of Maine's charter school law.

Current enrollment opportunities

 

Baxter Academy for Technology and Science, a public charter school located at 54 York St., Portland, Maine 04101, is now taking applications for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students for the 2015-2016 school year.  Enrollment is open to any student in the state and tuition is publicly funded.  The deadline for filling out the application and filing a Letter of Intent to Enroll is 4 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2015.  If applications exceed available slots, a lottery will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015.  Please visit http://baxter-academy.org/admissions for more information.

 

Cornville Regional Charter School (CRCS) has openings for student enrollment for the 2015-2016 academic year.  For each K through 8th grade student wishing to enroll, a written declaration of intent to enroll is required.  Intent to Enroll Forms can be found online and sent to 1192 West Ridge Road, Cornville, ME 04976, but in any event must be received before the end of the enrollment period: 5pm, March 1, 2015.  Any letters of intent or applications received after March 1, 2015 will not be entered in the lottery but will be placed on our wait list.  For more information, write to CRCS, call 207-474-8506 or vist us at: http://cornvilleregionalcharterschool.org.

 

Maine Connections Academy will accept enrollment applications for students in grades 7-12 for the 2015-2016 school year from February 2, 2015 – March 2, 2015.
