Corrections Alternatives Advisory Committee

The Legislature authorized the Committee to identify and recommend cost savings associated with alternative corrections service delivery options that may include improved collaboration between State and County government and restructuring and regionalization opportunities.

Ten (10) members are appointed by the Governor, the Commissioner of Corrections, and the Chief Justice.

The Commission is required to submit its recommendations to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over criminal justice and public safety matters, and to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over state and local government, no later than February 1, 2006.

The Study Committee is co-chaired by Commissioner Martin Magnusson and Sheriff Scott Story.
