The Lisbon Substance Abuse Community Team:
The Lisbon Substance Abuse Community Team (SACT) began 10 years ago as a community response to youth substance abuse issues. In 1999 this group became a Communities for Children Partner Community.
The Lisbon SACT opened a Teen Center in 1999 that has now been serving the community for a year and a half. The Teen Center Advisory Board includes youth. The Lisbon group has hosted several "Teen/Adult Dialogue Nights" where many community voices are heard.
Collaborators in Lisbon have included Community Policing groups and many groups, such as Girl Scouts and Peer Counselors have participated in Lisbon SACT events.
The Town of Lisbon has provided $2,500 in funds over the last three years to support the work of this group and they have received $1,000 in grant funding from the Masons.
