  1. Maine’s Early Childhood Initiative
Program Mission: To create and sustain a unified, statewide early childhood service system which provides essential resources, shares common standards for quality and respects the diversity and uniqueness of individual children and their families.
  2. Maine's Best Practice Approach in Creating Safe, Fair, Healthy, Responsive Schools (A Guide to prevent Bullying and Harassment
In 2005, after the Governor’s Executive Order charging the Children’s Cabinet with the task of exploring contributing factors to teen suicide and self-harm, the Legislature and the Cabinet “Climate Workgroup” identified bullying and harassment as a contributing factor. An ad hoc group formed to research and implement a “Best Practice Guide in Bullying and Harassment Prevention” along with a sample school policy promoted through Maine School Management, and a web site for free downloads.
