diversity and uniqueness of individual children and
their families.

Wraparound
Maine: Wraparound Maine is
a statewide, multi-site initiative that complements
and enhances existing collaborative service planning
approaches in Maine (Child and Family Teams, Family
Team Meetings and Family and Systems Teams), and supports
an integrated planning approach for youth with complex
needs.
- Keeping
Maine Children Connected
Intent : To simplify the transition
to and from school so that these students can stay connected
or re-connect to their education programs as soon as possible.
It is a collaborative effort among the Department of Corrections,
the Department of Education, Muskie Institute of Public Service,
the Department of Justice and the Department of Health and
Human Services.

Guide to prevent Bullying and Harassment
In 2005, after
the Governor’s Executive Order charging
the Children’s Cabinet with the task of exploring contributing
factors to teen suicide and self-harm, the Legislature
and the Cabinet “Climate Workgroup” identified
bullying and harassment as a contributing factor. An ad hoc
group formed to research and implement a “Best Practice
Guide in Bullying and Harassment Prevention” along with
a sample school policy promoted through Maine School
Management, and a web site for free downloads.
