Office of Economic Redevelopment, Re-employment and Business Support

Maine is addressing the needs of workers, businesses, and communities impacted by the anticipated closure of the Brunswick Naval Air Station. This website will give you information on services available to you during the transition.

Upcoming Events:

July 29, 2008 - Governor's Advisory Council Meeting

Mission of the Office of Economic Redevelopment, Re-employment and Business Support:

Governor Baldacci established the Maine Office of Redevelopment, Re-employment and Business Support and charged the organization with three principal functions:

  • Coordinate all Maine executive branch departments through one single point of contact and accountability for all post-BRAC actions taken;
  • Assist Local Redevelopment Authorities (“LRAs”); and
  • Deliver a comprehensive regional response for economic development, workforce and community assistance.

While the LRAs will focus on planning and implementation for the reuse and redevelopment of the physical facilities and properties that have been closed, the Maine Office of Redevelopment and Re-employment’s scope will extend beyond the borders of the closed base facilities and extend to the needs of the broader region affected by the closures.
