NOW OFFERING WEB COURSES!
All of Husson's Continuing Education "On-line" Internet Courses are designed to give you maximum flexibility in managing your busy schedule, while still retaining the quality of a Husson course.
HOW IT WORKS...
Course materials - such as syllabi, lecture notes, sound and image files and
Web pages - are located on a Web page for student to access. Students
can contact the instructor directly via e-mail or a phone call.
Class interaction takes place on the Web-based discussion board for that class. Typically, the instructor will start each week or topic by creating a "post" or a series of comments about a topic on the discussion board. Students then read and respond to that post, as well as each other's posts. The number and length of student's posts varies by course and instructor. Students can post their comments any time of the day or night, and there's never any need to be at a certain place - real or virtual - at any certain time.
Tests, quizzes, term papers and other assignments are due on specific dates, just like a traditional class, but are "passed in" via e-mail, or by posting them to the Web-based discussion board for that specific class, depending on the course requirements.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED...
To complete these on-line courses, you will need a computer with access
to the World Wide Web. There's no special software to install, and a
super-fast, hot-rod computer is not required. If you don't have a computer
or an Internet connection, you can always use the computer labs on campus or
even our South Portland campus.
