[Applicants must be employees of Maine State Government.]
- Employees and managers are encouraged to identify their objectives for
the selected program(s) prior to supervisory approval.
- Applications must be made on a State Training and Development Office
application form. (You may photocopy) Or, if your department is on the ASPEN
system you may apply on line. Complete each question and obtain required
signatures.
- Applications need to be received in the State Training and Development
Office three (3) weeks prior to the applied-for program, unless otherwise
noted.
- Enrollment is generally on a "first come/first serve" basis.
- To ensure that participants have the best possible learning experience,
we limit class sizes. Therefore, we may not be able to accept everyone who
applies for a program. Applicants who are not admitted to a program are
given preference if they apply for the same program at a later date.
- If the date is near for a program you are interested in, call the State
Training and Development Office (624-7764) to see if there is a vacancy
or be placed on a waiting list.
- We generally like to have a minimum number of participants for scheduled
programs. If you have been enrolled in a program that does not meet that
minimum, the program could be subject to cancellation or rescheduling. Enrollees
would be notified by the State Training and Development Office if that becomes
necessary, by e-mail posting of a notice on the training room door, and
posting a notice on the course description on our website. We will
also try to contact each participant by phone.
- Applicants will be notified of enrollment status two weeks prior to the
start of the course. If you have not heard from us by that time, please
call us at 624-7764.
- Being admitted to a program or course means that we are holding a place
for you. If you find that you cannot attend, please let us know as quickly
as possible. (See Cancellation Policy)
- As a general rule, supervisors and their employees are encouraged to attend
separate sessions so they both can get the maximum benefit from the program.
- Reasonable accommodations will be made for employees with disabilities.
Please notify us as far in advance of the program date as possible to request
any special accommodations.
- NOTE: Your agency may have additional registration procedures. Please
check with your Agency Training Liaison for more information.
