Description:
This is Part II of the “Managing Anger & Emotions in the Workplace” series. It is a manager/supervisor level program about anger/emotions in the workplace that specifically addresses the people management challenges facing those in a leadership position. The first program on Managing Anger & Emotions in the Workplace is a prerequisite to this manager/supervisor level session.
As a manager. . .
- Do you find that you may be reacting adversely when having to deal with challenging situations and difficult people?
- Do you wish you could be more centered and in control of your reactions and responses?
Emerging research suggests that interpersonal skill and emotional resilience may influence a leader’s level of effectiveness more than any other factor. Developing our capacity to become more resilient can result in outstanding performance at work. In this program, we will build on information learned in the “Managing Anger & Emotions in the Workplace” program, and continue to explore proven techniques and guidelines for understanding ourselves, managing our thoughts and emotions in a variety of complex situations, and using our emotions in a positive and constructive way when managing others. In addition, we will focus on the practical skills, techniques, tools, and guidelines necessary for managers to:
Solve people problems by using both logic and feelings. Be flexible in changing situations. Help others express their needs. Calmly and thoughtfully respond to difficult people. Keep an optimistic and positive outlook.
This is a highly interactive seminar, using a varied format and heavily focused on case studies, group discussions, and facilitator feedback and support.
