Directions

The State Training Conference Room located on the 1st floor of the Nash Building (red brick building and sign indicates Secretary of State) on the corner of Capitol and Sewall Streets in Augusta.

 

The Computer Training Lab (Room 104), Conference Room 105 and Conference Room 400 are in the Burton Cross Office Building. 

Directions for the above locations are below:

From I-95, if northbound take Exit 109 (formerly Exit 30), if southbound take Exit 109A (formerly 30A) proceed East on Western Avenue, and at the third light, turn right onto Armory Street opposite the National Guard Armory.  This street bends to the left and becomes Capitol Street.  Proceed down Capitol Street to the traffic light at the bottom of the hill and take your next right just after the red brick building.  This brings you into the main parking lot from which you can access both sites. 


You may also park at the Parking Garage located on the corner of Sewall and Capitol Street - go left at the traffic light. 


There is no charge for parking at either location.


From the East side of Augusta, go across Memorial Bridge, go ¾ around the rotary, take road prior to going back on the bridge and go to the 1st light.  You are on the corner of Capitol and State Streets and the Governor’s Mansion, the Blaine House, is on your right.  Take a right and take your first left into the main parking lot.  Or, for the garage go to the light and take a right.  Follow directions above.

COMPUTER TRAINING LAB

BOTH:  Out of respect for your fellow participants and the trainer, trainees are asked to turn off all electronic receiving devices during training sessions.  If calls need to be made during training, please step outside the training room to make them.

Take Civic Center Drive (US Route 27) 1.2 miles past the Turnpike toward Belgrade. (If taking Interstate 95, use exit 112B, North Augusta). Turn left at the Central Maine Commerce Center (Former SCI Building). Park in the large parking lot and use the entrance with the flags.

Arriving in Augusta from the south on the Interstate, take Exit 112B (Augusta/Belgrade), bear right onto route 27 and go approximately 1.2 miles and turn left into the Commerce Center. Park anywhere in the parking lot. Come through the front doors near the flags. Look for the LCD screen (straight ahead). The entrance to Florian Hall is adjacent to the reception window under the LCD.

Arriving in Augusta from the north on the interstate, take the Augusta/Belgrade exit, Exit 112, bear right onto route 27 and go approximately 1.2 miles and turn left into the Commerce Center. Park anywhere in the parking lot. Come through the front doors near the flags. Look for the LCD screen (straight ahead). The entrance to Florian Hall is adjacent to the reception window under the LCD.

From the South:      Take Interstate 95 North to Exit 112 B.  Proceed North on Civic Center Drive (Routes 11, 27 and 8) for just less than 1 mile.  The Department of Health and Human Services sign and building entrance are on the left.

From the North:      Take Interstate 95 South to Exit 112.  Proceed North on Civic Center Drive (Routes 11, 27, 8) for just l less than 1 mile.  The Department of Health and Human Services sign and building entrance are on the left.

From North or South:   Take Interstate 95 to Exit 185 at Broadway. Turn left off exit onto Broadway. Continue traveling straight until you reach the bridge leading to Brewer. The CareerCenter is on the left just before the bridge.

185 Lancaster Street

From 295 North or South: Take Franklin St. Arterial exit off 295. Turn right onto Marginal Way. Turn Left onto Preble Street (first light). Turn Left onto Lancaster Street

From Congress Street:   Head down Congress Street to Monument Square. You will see the Portland Public Library across from the square. Turn onto Elm Street. Go down Elm past Public Market and get into right lane. You will see the sign for the CareerCenter on the building at the corner of Elm and Lancaster. Take right onto Lancaster Street.

Parking is provided in lots along the block. Do not park in 1 hour parking spaces

Southbound Directions: If southbound on I-95 to Augusta, get off exit 112 (formerly 31 Belgrade) and bear right. Continue past the Department of Health and Human Services (on the left). Continue until you see the sign for the Central Maine Commerce Center (also on the left). Take a left onto Commerce Drive, take the first right onto Enterprise Drive. The CareerCenter is on the far right of the building.

Northbound Directions: If northbound on I-95 to Augusta, get off exit 112B (formerly 31B -- Belgrade, North Augusta) and bear right. Go straight through the light.  Continue past the Department of Health and Human Services (on the left). Continue until you see the sign for the Central Maine Commerce Center (also on the left). Take a left onto Commerce Drive, take the first right onto Enterprise Drive. The CareerCenter is on the far right of the building.
