~ an online learning experience ~
Description:
This is a segment in a series of learning opportunities about managing your e-mails at work.
As a State employee, you have the duty to keep State Records which can include e-mail messages and their attachments. This training provides the basic information that will help you determine when an e-mail is a State Record, when you should Keep an e-mail and especially when you can Delete an e-mail. Future trainings will provide more in-depth guidance on how to organize and manage your e-mails at work.
During this training we will be learning from you, too! You will be asked a few questions along the way so that we can learn how this topic affects you.
All State employees will be exposed to this training but in a staggered fashion: in other words, not all departments/bureaus at once. That is why someone you work with may have received it and you have not yet.
This training is an online/distance education opportunity and should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Objectives:
♦ Acquaint you with the definition of a State Record.
♦ Help you identify when an e-mail is a State Record so that State Records are kept and other messages are deleted as appropriate.
♦ Refer you to your agency's Records Officers and the Division of Records Management Services at Maine State Archives for assistance with your State Records.
To Register:You will receive an email with further explanation from Governor Baldacci. The Governor's email also contains your individual link to the training. Clicking on the link will automatically register you and direct you to the training.
