JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Department of Health and Human Services has an ongoing need for Comprehensive Health Planner I’s (CHP I) to help us plan and monitor Maine’s healthcare programs and services.  Typical duties include developing and implementing health programs; monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating program effectiveness; and recommending program modifications and/or improvements.  CHP I’s review and analyze new and proposed rules, regulations, and policies; design and implement data collection systems; and research, compile, and analyze data concerning health programs and services.  Most CHP I’s are based in Augusta, and are located in either the Office of MaineCare Services or the Maine Center for Disease Control & Prevention.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

In order to qualify, you must have a Bachelors Degree from an accredited educational institution in Public/Community Health, Health Administration, Public Administration, Social Work, or a closely related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in the planning, development, and coordination of health programs or services.  Directly related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
