Definition: Acts as a creative resource for others by either offering new
and novel ideas or facilitating an environment that encourages others to offer
new
or novel ideas. Consistently challenges current thinking, and always looks
for ways to take a different approach.
PUBLIC SERVICE COORDINATOR
- Routinely generates
new ideas.
- Recognizes when
there is a need for new/modified approaches.
- Proposes a variety
of solutions when problem-solving to stimulate discussion.
- Consults with
employees from other disciplines or areas to attempt to create synergy
or process integration.
PUBLIC SERVICE MANAGER
- Brings individuals
with different perspectives and approaches together, combining then in
ways that promote value for Maine State Government.
- Challenges employees
to go beyond the status quo, even when it makes them uncomfortable.
- Encourages others
to propose a variety of solutions when problem-solving to stimulate discussion.
- Develops
partnerships with other stakeholders to ensure forward-looking responses
are being developed.
PUBLIC SERVICE EXECUTIVE
- Develops policies and creates an environment that requires subordinates
to develop ‘out
of the box’ solutions to meet current and future constituent
needs.
- Supports and
protects the efforts of subordinates or employees
that advocate solutions that run counter to Maine State
Government’s culture.
- Fosters strategic
alliances with other agencies to ensure that forward-looking solutions
are being developed.
- Finds ways to
reward creativity in subordinates and their efforts.
