Greenhouse/Nursery IPM

Greenhouse IPM Workshops - In 2008 a group of greenhouse growers teamed up to hone Integrated Pest Management skills in a series of hands-on workshops organized by the Maine Department of Agriculture's Horticulture program.

Nursery Survey - In 2008 we conducted a detailed nursery survey looking for exotic pests that can impact landscapes and the surrounding forests. From June to August we monitored 10 nurseries for pests such as Asian longhorned beetle, hemlock woolly adelgid, emerald ash borer, light brown apple moth, summer fruit tortrix, Asian gypsy moth and pink gypsy moth. None of the pests were found.
