Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Quarantine - Proposed Rule Changes

Public Hearing: July 9, 2007 at 3pm, York County Cooperative Extension Office, 21 Braden Street in Springvale, Maine

The Maine Department of Agriculture is in the process of amending the state’s Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA) Quarantine. HWA was found in Maine in 2003 and to reflect this change six Maine towns will be added to the infested areas under quarantine.  Also new counties infested with HWA in other states will be included. Proposed HWA quarantine changes (.pdf)

A public hearing is scheduled for July 9, 2007 at 3 PM at the York County Cooperative Extension Office, 21 Bradeen Street in Springvale.

If you are unable to attend the public hearing and would like to provide written comments they will be accepted until 4 PM on July 23, 2007.
